2007 Cabernet

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon

True to 2007...a vivacious, sumptuous blend of cabernet sauvignon from two extraordinary vineyards in the Yakima Valley and Red Mountain.

2007 CS Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon
Blend: 100% cabernet sauvignon
Vineyards: Boushey 50% (Yakima Valley), Artz 50% (Red Mountain)
AVA: Yakima Valley
Aging: 18 months in French oak, 33% new
Bottled: May 11, 2009
Production: 366 cases
Notes: Deep ruby. Firm structure. Crushed currants, violet notes and lavender overtones, bing cherry, blackberry, blueberry, hints of cedar, and lingering baking spice.
Review: 91 points, Wine Advocate, October 2009: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) is a saturated purple color with an attractive aromatic array of wood smoke, spice box, violets, pencil lead, and black currant. This is followed by a mouth-filling, savory, intense wine with enough ripe tannin to evolve for another 2-3 years. This lengthy, pure effort will be at its best from 2012 to 2022."
