2007 Exhibition

2007 Exhibition

Wild and spicy, smoky and bright...a yummy blend of cabernet franc, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and more than a dollop of petit verdot from three vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills, Yakima Valley and Red Mountain.

2007 Exhibition Wine: Exhibition Red Blend
Blend: 46% cabernet franc, 22% merlot, 18% cabernet sauvignon, 14% petit verdot
Vineyards: Aldercreek (Horse Heaven Hills), Artz (Red Mountain), Boushey (Yakima Valley)
AVA: Columbia Valley
Aging: 18 months in French oak, 42% new
Bottled: May 3, 2009
Production: 302 cases
Notes: Brilliant ruby. Silky fore-palate; firm but fine mid-palate tannins. Bright and juicy. Blue- and blackberry, baking spice, violets, cardamom, and a light caramel undertone.
Review: 90 points, Wine Advocate, October 2009: "It sports an enticing nose of spice box (cinnamon, clove, sage), incense, black currant, and blackberry. Layered and intense on the palate, it has excellent grip, nicely concealed tannin, and well-integrated oak. On the palate, spice notes and black fruits lead to a lengthy, pure finish. Drink this tasty effort from 2011 to 2018."
